تستضيف مدينة الأقصر اليوم السبت وغداً الأحد 30 و 31 أكتوبر الجارى " يوم المدن العالمى " تحت رعاية السيد رئيس الجمهورية ,تحت عنوان ( تكيف وتعزيز قدرات المدن لمقاومة التغيرات المناخية ) .. 
Luxor city will be hosting the “ World Cities Day “ Fourm from 29th to 31st of October 
” under the auspices of the President of the Republic, and under the title of ( Adapting and Strengthening the Capabilities of Cities to Resist Climate Changes).

قال اللواء محمود شعراوى وزير التنمية المحلية , يشارك في فعاليات هذا الحدث الدولى الهام , السيدة ميمونة محمد شريف - وكيل الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة والمدير التنفيذي لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للمستوطنات البشرية وقيادات المنظمة وعدد من رؤساء مكاتب الأمم المتحدة العاملة فى مصر والبنك الدولى ورئيس مفوضية الإتحاد الأوروبى وبعض السفراء الأجانب المعتمدين بالقاهرة .

Sharawy - the minster of Local development said,” Ms. Maimouna Mohamed Sherief- United Nations under secretary geral and the executive director of the united nations’ human settlements organization, 
, leaders of the organization, a number of heads of United Nations offices operating in Egypt, the World Bank, the President of the European Union Commission, and some foreign ambassadors accredited in Cairo will be participating in the fourm.”

مشيراً أنه سيتم اليوم السبت , عقد 3 جلسات لإستعراض بعض البرامج والمشروعات التي تنفذها الحكومة المصرية وعلى رأسها برنامج تطوير الريف المصري ضمن المبادرة الرئاسية " حياة كريمة" والذى يهدف إلى تحسين مستوى معيشة حوالى 58 مليون مواطن بقرى الريف المصري حيث سيشارك في الجلسة عدد من الوزراء بالحكومة وممثلى المنظمات الأممية في القاهرة ، 
Pointing that today, “Saturday”, 3 sessions will be held to show case some of the programs and projects implemented by the Egyptian government, foremost of which is the  Egyptian countryside development program within the presidential initiative "a decent life", which aims to improve the standard of living of about 58 million citizens in Egyptian villages. A number of ministers and representatives of UN organizations in Cairo will participate in the sessions. 

بالإضافة إلى جلسة آخرى لعرض برنامج التنمية المحلية بصعيد مصر الذى تنفذه الحكومة المصرية بمحافظتى قنا وسوهاج بحضور عدد من ممثلي البنك الدولى ومحافظى سوهاج وقنا وأعضاء المكتب التنسيقى للبرنامج بوزارة التنمية المحلية ، 
In addition to another session to present the local development program in Upper Egypt implemented by the Egyptian government in the governorates of Qena and Sohag, in the presence of a number of representatives of the World Bank, the governors of Sohag and Qena, and members of the program's coordinating office in the Ministry of Local Development.

كما سيتم عقد جلسة ختامية حول الشباب والتغيرات المناخية تتم بمشاركة من خمس منظمات دولية تابعة للامم المتحدة بحضور عدد من المحافظين ونوابهم والشخصيات الدولية المدعوة واكاديميين دوليين .
A closing session will also be held on youth and climate change, with the participation of five international organizations affiliated with the United Nations, in the presence of a number of governors and their deputies, invited international personalities and international academics.

وأشار "شعراوى " ، إلى أن فعاليات اليوم الثانى للمؤتمر " الأحد " سيشهد عقد الجلسة الافتتاحية الرئيسية بحضور ومشاركة الدكتور مصطفى مدبولى رئيس مجلس الوزراء ، حيث سيتم إلتقاط صورة تذكارية لكبار الشخصيات مع رئيس الوزراء ويعقبها بدء الجلسة بكلمة ترحيب لمحافظ الأقصر المستشار مصطفى ألهم ويعقبها كلمات لعدد من الجهات والمنظمات والشخصيات الدولية المشاركة ، 
Shaarawy pointed out that the activities of the second day of the conference, "Sunday", will witness the holding of the main opening session in the presence and participation of Dr. Mostafa Madboly -The Prime Minister, where memorial photo will be captured for VIPs with the Prime Minister followed by starting the session with welcoming speech by Luxor’s governor – Council.Mostafa Alham, after that few words will be gived by number of participating international bodies & organizations and VIPs,

مشيراً ,أنه سيتم عقد عدد من الموائد المستديرة على مدار اليوم بحضور الوزراء المصريين وكبار الشخصيات الدولية والتي ستناقش بعض الموضوعات المتعلقة بيوم المدن العالمى وعلى رأسها عدد من المبادرات الدولية ذات الصلة منها "التكيف مع المناخ لأكثر الناس تأثراً" ، و"نتائج مؤتمر المدن الذكية Innovate4Cities "ومبادرة " المستقبل الأخضر .. تعافي من فيروس كورونا " ، وستبحث المائدة المستديرة الرابعة موضوع تغير المناخ في المنطقة العربية - التحديات والفرص " .
He also pointed that a number of round tables will be held throughout the day in the presence of Egyptian ministers and international dignitaries, which will discuss some topics related to World Cities Day, on top of which are a number of relevant international initiatives, including "climate adaptation for the most affected people" , the results of the Smart Cities Conference" “Innovate4Cities",  and the "Green Future...Recovery from the Coronavirus" initiative.  The fourth round table will discuss climate change in the Arab region - challenges and opportunities.

قال " شعراوى "  أن الوفود الدولية المشاركة في الاحتفالية ستتابع العديد من الفقرات الثقافية والفنية التي تعكس الحضارة المصرية بمعبد الأقصر ، بالإضافة إلى أن وجودهم في مدينة الأقصر ذاتها بوصفها المتحف العالمي المفتوح ما يتيح فرصة لإظهار قدرة مصر على إعادة تأهيل البنية التحتية الآثرية واستعراض جهودها فى الحفاظ علي الآثر بالتزامن مع النمو الحضري في اطار فلسفة القيادة السياسية الداعية دوما لاحترام التاريخ وبناء مصر المستقبل.

Shaarawy said that the international delegations participating in the celebration will  witness many cultural and artistic shows that reflect the Egyptian civilization in Luxor Temple, in addition to their presence in Luxor city itself which is considered an international open museum, which provides an opportunity to show Egypt's ability to rehabilitate the archaeological infrastructure and show its efforts in Preserving the monument in conjunction with urban growth within the framework of the philosophy of the political leadership that always calls for respect for history and building a future Egypt.
